Founded in 1857, École Centrale de Lyon (Central School of Lyon) is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the suburban setting of the metropolis of Écully (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes. Officially recognized by the Ministère de l'Enseignement supérieur, de la Recherche et de l'Innovation, France (Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation of France), École Centrale de Lyon (ECL) is a very small coeducational French higher education institution.
