Founded in 2006, Al-Furat University is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the small city of Deir ez-Zor (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants). This institution also has branch campuses in the following locations: Hasaka, Rakka. Officially recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education of Syria, Al-Furat University (FU) is a coeducational Syrian higher education institution. Al-Furat University (FU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. FU also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including housing, study abroad and exchange programs, as well as administrative services.
