Founded in 1987, Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten (Amsterdam School of the Arts) is a non-profit private higher-education institution located in the large city of Amsterdam (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants), North Holland. Officially recognized by the Nederlands-Vlaamse Accreditatieorganisatie (Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders), Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten (AHK) is a small coeducational Dutch higher education institution. Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten (AHK) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation), bachelor degrees, master degrees in several areas of study. This 35 years old Dutch higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment. AHK also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, study abroad and exchange programs, as well as administrative services.
