Established in 1992, Balikesir Üniversitesi (Balikesir University) is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the medium city of Balikesir (population range of 250,000-499,999 inhabitants). Officially recognized by the YÖK - Yüksekögretim Kurulu (YÖK - Council of Higher Education), Balikesir Üniversitesi is a very large coeducational Turkish higher education institution.
