Founded in 1991, Bluefields Indian and Caribbean University is a private higher-education institution located in the large town of Bluefields (population range of 10,000-49,999 inhabitants), South Caribbean Coast Autonomous Region. Officially recognized by the Consejo Nacional de Universidades, Nicaragua (National Council of Universities of Nicaragua), Bluefields Indian and Caribbean University (BICU) is a coeducational Nicaraguan higher education institution. Bluefields Indian and Caribbean University (BICU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study. BICU also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, as well as administrative services.
