Established in 2009, Bohol Island State University is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the large town of Bilar (population range of 10,000-49,999 inhabitants), Central Visayas. This institution also has branch campuses in the following locations: Tagbilaran City, Candijay, Clarin, Calape. Officially recognized by the Commission on Higher Education of the Philippines, Bohol Island State University (BISU) is a coeducational Philippine higher education institution. Bohol Island State University (BISU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study. BISU also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, as well as administrative services.
