Established in 1981, Eastern University of Sri Lanka is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the suburban setting of the medium city of Batticaloa (population range of 250,000-499,999 inhabitants), Eastern Province. This institution also has a branch campus in Trincomalee. Officially recognized by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka, Eastern University of Sri Lanka (EUSL) is a very small coeducational Sri Lankan higher education institution. Eastern University of Sri Lanka (EUSL) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 41 years old Sri Lankan higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment. EUSL also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, housing, sports facilities, as well as administrative services.
