Founded in 1985, Gilan University of Medical Sciences is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the large city of Rasht (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants), Gilan. Officially recognized by the Ministry of Health and Medical Education of Iran, Gilan University of Medical Sciences (GUMS) is a small coeducational Iranian higher education institution. Gilan University of Medical Sciences (GUMS) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. GUMS also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, as well as administrative services.
