Founded in 1914, Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main (Goethe University Frankfurt) is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the large city of Frankfurt am Main (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants), Hesse. Officially recognized by the Hessisches Ministerium für Wissenschaft und Kunst (Hessen Ministry of Higher Education, Research and the Arts), Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main (JWGU) is a very large coeducational German higher education institution.
