Founded in 1968, Guimaras State University is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the small city of Buenavista (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Western Visayas. Officially recognized by the Commission on Higher Education of the Philippines, Guimaras State University (GSU) is a coeducational Philippine higher education institution. Guimaras State University (GSU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study. GSU also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, as well as administrative services.
