Founded in 1983, Hainan University is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the large city of Haikou (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants), Hainan. Officially recognized by the Department of Education of the Hainan Province, Hainan University is a very large coeducational Chinese higher education institution. Hainan University offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment. Hainan University also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, housing, financial aids and/or scholarships, as well as administrative services.
