Founded in 1954, Haramaya University is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the suburban setting of the small city of Haramaya (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Oromia Region. Officially recognized by the Ministry of Education of Ethiopia, Haramaya University (HRU) is a very large coeducational Ethiopian higher education institution. Haramaya University (HRU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as doctorate degrees in several areas of study.
