Founded in 1987, Hogeschool Viaa (Viaa Christian University of Applied Sciences) is a non-profit private higher-education institution located in the suburban setting of the small city of Zwolle (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Overijssel. Officially recognized by the Nederlands-Vlaamse Accreditatieorganisatie (Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders), Hogeschool Viaa (Viaa) is a very small coeducational Dutch higher education institution formally affiliated with the Christian-Protestant religion. Hogeschool Viaa (Viaa) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study. This 35 years old Dutch higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment. Viaa also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, study abroad and exchange programs, as well as administrative services.
