Founded in 1990, Högskolan Väst (University West) is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the small city of Trollhättan (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Vastra Gotaland County. Officially recognized by the Utbildningsdepartementet, Sverige (Ministry of Education and Research of Sweden), Högskolan Väst (HV) is a small coeducational Swedish higher education institution.
