Established in 1979, Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa (Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon) is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the metropolis of Lisbon (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), Lisboa. Officially recognized by the Ministério da Ciência, Tecnologia e Ensino Superior, Portugal (Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education of Portugal), Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa (IPL) is a coeducational Portuguese higher education institution.
