Established in 1940, Issyk-Kul State University is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the large town of Karakol (population range of 10,000-49,999 inhabitants), Issyk-Kul. Officially recognized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan, Issyk-Kul State University (IKSU) is a coeducational Kyrgyzstani higher education institution. Issyk-Kul State University (IKSU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment. IKSU also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, housing, sports facilities, as well as administrative services.
