Established in 2008, Jaamacada Gedo (University of Gedo) is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the medium town of Bardera (population range of 2,500-9,999 inhabitants), Gedo. Officially recognized by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Higher Education of Somalia, Jaamacada Gedo (UG) is a coeducational Somali higher education institution. Jaamacada Gedo (UG) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study. UG also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, as well as administrative services.
