Established in 2005, Jaamacada Kismaayo (Kismayo University) is a non-profit private higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the small city of Kismayo (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Lower Juba. Officially recognized by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Higher Education of Somalia, Jaamacada Kismaayo (KU) is a very small coeducational Somali higher education institution. Jaamacada Kismaayo (KU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study. KU also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, as well as administrative services.
