Established in 1999, Jaamacadda SIMAD (SIMAD University) is a non-profit private higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the metropolis of Mogadishu (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), Banaadir. Officially recognized by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Higher Education of Somalia, Jaamacadda SIMAD (SU) is a small coeducational Somali higher education institution formally affiliated with the Islamic religion. Jaamacadda SIMAD (SU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study. This 22 years old Somali higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 60-70% making this Somali higher education organization a somewhat selective institution. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment.
