Founded in 1991, Klaipedos Universitetas (Klaipeda University) is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the small city of Klaipeda (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants). Officially recognized by the Lietuvos Respublikos vietimo ir mokslo ministerija (Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania), Klaipedos Universitetas (KU) is a medium-sized coeducational Lithuanian higher education institution.
