Founded in 1973, Kumaun University is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the large town of Nainital (population range of 10,000-49,999 inhabitants), Uttarakhand. Officially recognized by the University Grants Commission of India, Kumaun University is a coeducational Indian higher education institution.
