Established in 1954, Liepajas Universitate (Liepaja University) is a for-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the small city of Liepaja (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Kurzeme. Officially recognized by the Latvijas Republikas Izglitibas un zinatnes ministrija (Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Latvia), Liepajas Universitate (LiepU) is a small coeducational Latvian higher education institution.
