Established in 1934, Lietuvos sporto universitetas (Lithuanian Sports University) is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the medium city of Kaunas (population range of 250,000-499,999 inhabitants). Officially recognized by the Lietuvos Respublikos vietimo ir mokslo ministerija (Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania), Lietuvos sporto universitetas (LSU) is a small coeducational Lithuanian higher education institution. Lietuvos sporto universitetas (LSU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study. This 88 years old Lithuanian higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades.
