Established in 1953, Mawlamyine University is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the small city of Mawlamyaing (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Mon. Officially recognized by the Ministry of Education (Science and Technology) of Myanmar, Mawlamyine University is a large coeducational Burmese higher education institution. Mawlamyine University offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study.
