Established in 1949, Miskolci Egyetem (University of Miskolc) is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the suburban setting of the small city of Miskolc (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Borsod-AbaUj-Zemplen. Officially recognized by the Magyar Felsooktatási Akkreditációs Bizottság (Hungarian Accreditation Committee), Miskolci Egyetem (UM) is a medium-sized coeducational Hungarian higher education institution.
