Founded in 1962, Northern Alberta Institute of Technology is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the large city of Edmonton (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants), Alberta. This institution also has a branch campus in Calgary. Officially recognized by the Ministry of Advanced Education of Alberta, Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) is a very large coeducational Canadian higher education institution. Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation), bachelor degrees in several areas of study. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment. NAIT also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, sports facilities, financial aids and/or scholarships, online courses and distance learning opportunities, as well as administrative services.
