Founded in 1907, Northern Caribbean University is a private higher-education institution located in the large town of Mandeville (population range of 10,000-49,999 inhabitants), Manchester. Officially recognized by the Ministry of Education of Jamaica, Northern Caribbean University (NCU) is a small coeducational Jamaican higher education institution formally affiliated with the Christian-Adventist religion. Northern Caribbean University (NCU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 115 years old Jamaican higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades.
