Founded in 2001, Private Universität für Gesundheitswissenschaften, Medizinische Informatik und Technik (UMIT Private University for Health Sciences, Medical Informatics and Technology) is a non-profit private higher-education institution located in the suburban setting of the large town of Hall (population range of 10,000-49,999 inhabitants), Tyrol. Officially recognized by the Agentur für Qualitätssicherung und Akkreditierung Austria (Agency for Quality Assurance and Accreditation Austria), Private Universität für Gesundheitswissenschaften, Medizinische Informatik und Technik (UMIT) is a very small coeducational Austrian higher education institution. Private Universität für Gesundheitswissenschaften, Medizinische Informatik und Technik (UMIT) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment. UMIT also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, housing, sports facilities, financial aids and/or scholarships, study abroad and exchange programs, as well as administrative services.
