Founded in 1948, Pyongyang Medical University is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the metropolis of Pyongyang (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants). Officially recognized by the Ministry of Education of North Korea, Pyongyang Medical University is a coeducational North Korean higher education institution. Pyongyang Medical University offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study. Pyongyang Medical University also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, as well as administrative services.
