Established in 1992, Sisekaitseakadeemia (Estonian Academy of Security Sciences) is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the suburban setting of the medium city of Tallinn (population range of 250,000-499,999 inhabitants), Harju County. Officially recognized by the Eesti Vabariigi Haridus-ja Teadusministeerium (Ministry of Education and Research of Estonia), Sisekaitseakadeemia (SKA) is a very small coeducational Estonian higher education institution. Sisekaitseakadeemia (SKA) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees in several areas of study. This 30 years old Estonian higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. SKA also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, sports facilities, study abroad and exchange programs, as well as administrative services.
