Established in 1961, Sumqayit Dövlet Universiteti (Sumgait State University) is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the medium city of Sumqayit (population range of 250,000-499,999 inhabitants). Officially recognized by the Azerbaycan Respublikasi Tehsil Nazirliyi (Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan), Sumqayit Dövlet Universiteti (SDU) is a small coeducational Azerbaijani higher education institution. Sumqayit Dövlet Universiteti (SDU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study. SDU also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, as well as administrative services.
