Established in 1993, Surigao del Sur State University is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the large town of Tandag (population range of 10,000-49,999 inhabitants), Caraga Region. This institution also has branch campuses in the following locations: Cantilan, Lianga, Cagwait, San Miguel, Tagbina.
