Established in 1974, The University of Guilan is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the large city of Rasht (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants), Gilan. Officially recognized by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of Iran, The University of Guilan is a large coeducational Iranian higher education institution. The University of Guilan offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study. This 48 years old Iranian higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations.
