Founded in 1951, Tibet University is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the medium city of Lhasa (population range of 250,000-499,999 inhabitants), Tibet. Officially recognized by the Tibet Autonomous Region Department of Education, Tibet University is a large coeducational Chinese higher education institution. Tibet University offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment. Tibet University also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, as well as administrative services.
