Established in 2004, Universidad Católica del Este (Catholic University of the East, Dominican Republic) is a private higher-education institution located in the medium city of Higüey (population range of 250,000-499,999 inhabitants), La Altagracia. Officially recognized by the Ministerio de Educación Superior, Ciencia y Tecnología, República Dominicana (Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology of the Dominican Republic), Universidad Católica del Este (UCADE) is a very small coeducational Dominican higher education institution formally affiliated with the Christian-Catholic religion. Universidad Católica del Este (UCADE) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study. UCADE also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, as well as administrative services.
