Founded in 1982, Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Matanzas (Medical University of Matanzas) is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the large city of Matanzas (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants). Officially recognized by the Ministerio de Salud Pública, Cuba (Ministry of Public Health of Cuba), Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Matanzas (UCMM) is a small coeducational Cuban higher education institution.
