Founded in 1982, Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Ciego de Ávila (Medical University of Ciego de Ávila) is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the small city of Ciego de Ávila (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Ciego de Avila. Officially recognized by the Ministerio de Salud Pública, Cuba (Ministry of Public Health of Cuba), Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Ciego de Ávila (UCMCA) is a small coeducational Cuban higher education institution. Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Ciego de Ávila (UCMCA) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study. UCMCA also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, as well as administrative services.
