Established in 1989, Universidad de los Andes, Chile (University of the Andes, Chile) is a non-profit private higher-education institution located in the suburban setting of the large metropolis of Santiago (population range of over 5,000,000 inhabitants), Region Metropolitana de Santiago. Officially recognized by the Comisión Nacional de Acreditación, Chile (National Accreditation Commission), Universidad de los Andes, Chile (UANDES) is a large coeducational Chilean higher education institution formally affiliated with the Christian-Catholic religion. Universidad de los Andes, Chile (UANDES) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment. UANDES also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, housing, sports facilities, financial aids and/or scholarships, study abroad and exchange programs, as well as administrative services.
