Founded in 1982, Universidad de Oriente, El Salvador (University of the East, El Salvador) is a non-profit private higher-education institution located in the small city of San Miguel (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants). Officially recognized by the Ministerio de Educación, República de El Salvador (Ministry of Education of El Salvador), Universidad de Oriente, El Salvador (UNIVO) is a coeducational Salvadoran higher education institution. Universidad de Oriente, El Salvador (UNIVO) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study.
