Founded in 1958, Universidad de Oriente, Venezuela (University of the East, Venezuela) is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the medium city of Cumaná (population range of 250,000-499,999 inhabitants), Sucre. This institution also has branch campuses in the following locations: Barcelona, Ciudad Bolívar, Los Guaritos, Guatamare.
