Founded in 1911, Universidad de Puerto Rico, Recinto Universitario de Mayagüez (University of Puerto Rico-Rio, Mayaguez Campus) is a non-profit public state higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the small city of Mayagüez (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants).
