Founded in 1982, Universidad Diego Portales (Diego Portales University) is a non-profit private higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the large metropolis of Santiago (population range of over 5,000,000 inhabitants), Region Metropolitana de Santiago. Officially recognized by the Comisión Nacional de Acreditación, Chile (National Accreditation Commission), Universidad Diego Portales (UDP) is a large coeducational Chilean higher education institution. Universidad Diego Portales (UDP) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 40 years old Chilean higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment. UDP also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, sports facilities, study abroad and exchange programs, as well as administrative services.
