Founded in 1999, Universidad Fundepos Alma Mater (Fundepos Alma Mater University) is a private higher-education institution located in the large town of Uruca (population range of 10,000-49,999 inhabitants), San Jose. Officially recognized by the Ministerio de Educación Pública, Costa Rica (Ministry of Public Education of Costa Rica), Universidad Fundepos Alma Mater is a coeducational Costa Rican higher education institution.
