Founded in 1999, Universidad Nacional Intercultural de la Amazonía (National Intercultural University of the Amazon) is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the small city of Yarinacocha (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Ucayali. Officially recognized by the Ministerio de Educación, Peru (Ministry of Education of Peru), Universidad Nacional Intercultural de la Amazonía (UNIA) is a coeducational Peruvian higher education institution. Universidad Nacional Intercultural de la Amazonía (UNIA) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study.
