Founded in 1983, Universidad Pedagógica Experimental Libertador (Libertador Experimental Pedagogical University) is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the large town of Rubio (population range of 10,000-49,999 inhabitants), Tachira. Officially recognized by the Ministerio del Poder Popular para Educación Universitaria, Ciencia y Tecnología, Venezuela (Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology of Venezuela), Universidad Pedagógica Experimental Libertador (UPEL) is a very large coeducational Venezuelan higher education institution. Universidad Pedagógica Experimental Libertador (UPEL) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study. UPEL also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, as well as administrative services.
