Established in 1962, Universidade Agostinho Neto (Agostinho Neto University) is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the metropolis of Luanda (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants). This institution also has branch campuses in the following locations: Benguela, Huíla, Huambo and Kwanza-Sul. Officially recognized by the Ministério do Ensino Superior, Ciência, Tecnologia e Inovação, Angola (Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation of Angola), Universidade Agostinho Neto (UAN) is a large coeducational Angolan higher education institution. Universidade Agostinho Neto (UAN) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees in several areas of study. This 60 years old Angolan higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations. The admission rate range is 30-40% making this Angolan higher education organization a very selective institution. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment. UAN also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, sports facilities, financial aids and/or scholarships, study abroad and exchange programs, as well as administrative services.
