Founded in 2004, Universidade da Paz (University for Peace) is a private higher-education institution located in the small city of Dili (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants). Officially recognized by the Agência Nacional para a Avaliação e Acreditação Académica (National Commission for Academic Assessment and Accreditation), Universidade da Paz (UNPAZ) is a large coeducational East Timorese higher education institution. Universidade da Paz (UNPAZ) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation), bachelor degrees in several areas of study. UNPAZ also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, as well as administrative services.
