Established in 2000, Universidade Nacional Timor Lorosa'e (National University of East Timor) is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the suburban setting of the small city of Dili (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants). Officially recognized by the Agência Nacional para a Avaliação e Acreditação Académica (National Commission for Academic Assessment and Accreditation), Universidade Nacional Timor Lorosa'e (UNTL) is a large coeducational East Timorese higher education institution. Universidade Nacional Timor Lorosa'e (UNTL) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation), bachelor degrees in several areas of study. UNTL also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, as well as administrative services.
