Established in 1985, Universidade Pedagógica (Pedagogical University) is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the metropolis of Maputo (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), Maputo City. This institution also has branch campuses in the following locations: Beira, Nampula, Quelimane, Gaza, Niassa. Officially recognized by the Ministério de Educação e Desenvolvimento Humano, Mozambique (Ministry of Education and Human Development of Mozambique), Universidade Pedagógica (UP) is a very large coeducational Mozambican higher education institution. Universidade Pedagógica (UP) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study.
