Founded in 1596, Università degli Studi dell'Aquila (University of L'Aquila) is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the urban setting of the small city of L'Aquila (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Abruzzo. Officially recognized by the Ministero dell'Istruzione, dell'Università e della Ricerca, Italia (Ministry of Education, Universities and Research of Italy), Università degli Studi dell'Aquila (UNIVAQ) is a large coeducational Italian higher education institution.
